Their mission is to cross the Atlantic Ocean to visit their sickly grandfather, Bompie. During the boat trip they discover that they didn't get along to well. Nobody like Brian because he was a know it all and a perfectionist. Cody's dad Uncle Stew thinks Cody is a knuckeheaded doofus. Uncle Dock just thinks about his lost loved, Rosalie. Sophie was a plain dreamer obsses with the sea. Although, during the boat trip they all learned new things from one another and slowly started to like eachother. However, there was one thing that Cody and Brian wanted to know so bad and that was, what happen to Sophie's real parents?
Explanation of Rating: I simply think that many people who are looking for a fun book will enjoy this book immensely. This book is pretty easy flowing with no complicated words. Also, it has this mystery to the main character Sophie, that you just ought to know what it is. As you read, you are learning all this fantastic things too. This brightens up your day with the slight humor that has in it. Plus, is a Newberry Honor Book which means that is a good book.
Favorite Passage: "his mother give him apple pie" -Chapter 14
I like this passage because at the end of Bompies stories they always end up with "his mother give him apple pie" except for one. The only reason is just because she's happy his alive. No matter what crazy thinks Bompie would of done, apple pie he would receive at least from his mother anyway.
