The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Recomendation: I recomend this book to anyone who likes adventurous books. Some one who is looking for a good cant put it down book.

Summary: Tom lives with his aunt Polly and brother sid in St. Petersburg, Missiouri. After skipping school one day he gets punished and has to paint the fence and finds a way to get his friends to do it in return for a treasure.One night tom and huck decide to go to a grave yard to cure some warts. While there they see a murder happen the victim was Dr. Robinson was killed by injune joe. Joe accused his drunk friend of the crime and he was falsely arrested for the crime. When tom hears of this he feels the guilt build up inside.So then the boys run away to an island to become pirates in the mean time the boys hear of the town in search of their bodies. Tom decides to sneak home that night and has an idea to show up to his funeral and tells tom and joe harper to do the same. When they return they are embraced by their loved ones. Back at school tom gets on beckys good side when he takes the blame for the book she ripped. When the trial for the Dr.s death rolls around tom testifies that Injune joe did it, joe fled the courtroom out a window. Injune reappears in town as a mute spaniard in search of gold. Huck and tom find out and keep a close eye on him. Joe and his partner decide to attack widow Douglas so huck races to town to warn the people and becomes an unknown hero. Meanwhile tom and becky get lost in the cave and are not noticed to be gone til the next morning. With the search dragging on tom realizes they are sharing the cave with injune. Soon enough tom finds a way out and the judge locks up the cave and injune starves to death. Later on huck and tom go to the cave and discover joe's treasure. Widow Douglas adopts huck after the treasure discovery.

Explanation of rating: *** its good but some times it is difficult to understand.

Favorite Passage: "Just as true as I live." Chapter 18

I like this passage because its funny how they word things and its kind of like "thats just the way it goes"
