Class: B3
Book: The Vampire Diaries: Dark Reunion
(Book 4)
Author: L.J. Smith
Pages: 272
Rating: ****

Recommendation: Extreme Spoilers Ahead!!! This is the fourth book in the series. This is not for younger children. It’s much darker then the other books and pretty gory. But it’s still amazing and everyone 12 or older would love it! It’s a curl up under the covers kind of book that leaves you terrified, and hooked.

Summary: Everyone seems to have gone their separate ways. Since Elena’s death, sacrificing herself for the two vampire brothers she loves, everything, and everyone seemed to have died with her. Bonnie is still not convinced that the evil has completely left. With her continuing dreams of talking to Elena and the horrifying thing keeping her hostage, Bonnie is left confused and scared. But now with Stefan and Damon both gone, who can help her? Stefan is fulfilling his promise to Elena by staying with Damon and helping him, but things just keep getting harder with the two brothers. Bonnie and the other girls communicate with Elena, and her dead spirit, leading to horrific events that Bonnie decides she can’t handle alone. She contacts Stefan to help her, and might just get Damon as well. Will they be able to concur the Other Power once again, without Elena? Read to find out in the fourth book of the series. Death, is only the beginning…

Explanation of Rating: This is the darkest book of the entire series. And my least favorite but I still love it! It’s insanely intense! And the horrific and frightening events in it make you want to leave all the lights on in your house! Or maybe that’s just me being a wimp…? But it shows the intense love of Stefan and Elena, even through death.

Favorite Passage: “Relief and aching joy flooded through Stefan. He could scarcely concentrate on her words, and it didn’t matter. They way she said his name was enough. That “Oh, Stefan” told him everything he cared about.” –Chapter 12

I love this passage because it makes you feel sorrow and joy at once. And all you want is everything to work out for Stefan. It’s a very heartbreaking and romantic part. And it shows his deep love and affections for her.
