I would recomend this book to girls not boys. Boys wouldn't like this book because it is about a woman and her family and has girly stuff in it. Girls would like it because of those things. I think it is a very good book and would recomend it because it has good wholesome content and strong values.

This book it about a woman named Anne who after being adopted by a loving brother and sister has grown up and married and has a family of her own. It talks about her five children and all of their adventures. Also it talks about many trials that all families face and what life is all about. Through there many trials they grow closer as a family. Also they understand eachother better and learn to get along and look out for eachother. Anne's husband Gilbert is a doctor and you see just how trying and hard that kind of work was back then. In the book Anne has a baby and it shows how they didnt ever talk about things like that and her children thought she was dying. This book is fun to dive into to see what times were like in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It gives you a whole new perspective on how much things have changed.

I rated this book a four star because I really enjoyed it and it was a good easy read. It has a lot of true things that we all go through in life and it has a good message. It shows that life isn't easy and you have to go through trials before things get better. It also shows a large family who loves each other and they don't always get along but they stick up for each other. L.M. Montgomery knows how to tell a good story about what life is all about and all of its joys and wonders. All the children are very imaginative and have their own world where they play and make believe. Overall I thought it was a great book!

My favorite passage from the book was when Anne thinks that Gilbert doesn't love her anymore and he tells her that he does. It was a very romantic and cute part.
