Memorial Day A-2

Name: Jess Larson
Class Period: A-2
Book Title: Memorial Day
Author: Vince Flynn
Pages: 574
Rating: ***
Recommendation: This book would probably be for more of a older male reader. Religion and Politics are a big part to understanding this book. Some of the topics discussed in the book would be reserved for an older audience primarily.
Summary: The book starts with the main character, Mitch Rapp, interrogating a man. The man tells him of a secret village in the mountains. After a quick raid of the village, a secret underground room is discovered. Inside are plans to blow up a nuclear bomb in Washington D.C. and kill the president and all his advisers. Mitch then interrogates several more terrorists found in the village and learns some more about this secret plot. Everyone in Washington is in a frenzy as this political nightmare unfolds.
Explanation of Rating: As i said before, this book is primarily for older readers. This is not to say that it was bad. After you dive into it a little it wasn't a bad book. Keep in mind it is a five hundred plus page book. Before you start it make sure that you have a lot of time to commit to it. Overall the book was pretty good.
Favorite passage: My favorite passage was when one of the nuclear scientists explains the differences between his five star hotel room the night before and his crappy little motel room that night. I liked it because it was very funny and descriptive.
