Rating: ****
Recommendation: To start off, this book is INTENSE. Out of a series the first book should usually catch your attention, well this book does just that, and then some! I recommend this book to anybody that wants to read a good thriller fantasy! Not just one book, but a series. It has a whole bunch of aspects to it, romance, action, mystery etc!
Summary: It starts off with Eddie Drood. He looks and acts as though he is an average bystander, until, his mission comes to him. A call comes from the Drood family matriarch for Eddie to go on his next mission. He returns home, where he comes to the worst reality he thought possible. Eddie faces trial after trial as it seems the whole world is his enemy and out to kill him, as his family name is feared throughout the world. He must fight for his life as his world twists around him. He faces demons, he faces spirits, he faces just about anything that can cross your mind in this ruthless battle against evil.
Explanation of Rating: This book was outstanding! It had so many twists and turns in it I had no clue what could be coming next. The only downfall of this book, is how graphic it is. There are sections in this book that are really not needed by any means. If it got rid of these, it would be a definite five star! The action in this book is great, there are whole chapters held in a little space of time, where there is incredible amounts of detail in the action.
