I would recommend this book to everyone! Anyone who read's this book, will love it! The suspense will keep you reading to the very end! Alexandre Dumas keeps you entertained the entire way through.
Edmond Dantes had the perfect life. The perfect job, the perfect family, and the love of his life. But that will all change when Dantes is sent to jail because he was accused of helping Napoleon Bonaparte. While in jail, he meets Abbe Faria, who eventually helps him escape prison. Once he escapes, Dantes finds a hidden treasure on the Island of Monte Cristo. Now, Edmond is back, now as the Count of Monte Cristo, to get revenge on the one's who ruined his life.
Get ready for suspense, love... and revenge!
The reason I gave this book 5 stars is because it is a timeless book. At the beginning of the book, Alexandra Dumas pulls you into the book, and doesn't let go until the very end. This book has and will continue to go down in history as one of the greatest revenge stories of all time.
"The man you see before you is as tender a father and as respectful a friend as could ever appear to you." -Chapter 61
In this chapter, The count is looking over a dear fried of his who has grown ill. He comforts her, and lets her know that he's there for her. This passage shows the true character of the Count of Monte Cristo.
